HAITI 2010 by Monome Community

Einpuls, a member of the Monome online community, sent me an email telling me that the Monome community have made an digital download album in order to generate donations for aid relief in Haiti. If you haven't already donated (or even if you have) you can download the 27 tracks in MP3 320 or FLAC for as little as a $1 donation. 100% of the sale proceeds will be donated to Médecins Sans Frontières (msf.org). You can listen to the album and donwload it HERE. With 2 hospitals destroyed and 54 NGO workers missing they could do with the the help.

Nice little thing. I guess the original idea comes from Terry Rileys In C. (score here). It kind of reminded me of that Windows Sound Recorder video that was floating about a few years ago. Not the same but reminded me of it.

Looks pretty straight forward. There a few more demo clips if you look in the related section. Pretty nice demo here. Latency is always going to be somewhat of a problem when using video tracking but with Ableton only triggering on beat it's manageable. It's all free so if you have a Mac, Ableton and a Camcorder your ready to go.

Graph artist Mr.Tempt suffers from the terminal Lou Gehrig's Disease. The disease is particularly cruel as it paralyzes the body but leaves the brain perfectly intact. The disease is always terminal but people can survive for extremely varied lenghts. Steven Hawking is one of the longest known sufferers having the disease for 30 years.

The Eyewriter is the combination of a €50 Playstation Eye, free software, a network connection and projector and with it Mr.Tempt can still tag the city buildings.
